In Black Excellence in STEM (BE-STEM) at UCSF is a student organization founded in 2020 at UCSF. BE-STEM works to support Black graduate students and postdoctoral fellows at UCSF by:
  • Creating a safe and welcoming community
  • Representing the needs of the community
  • Advocating for their rights and interests
  • Promoting and facilitating recruitment and retention
  • Supporting professional development
In May 2022, THCQ President and CEO, Norris Turner participated in BE-STEMs “Career Conversations” series, highlighting professionals of color (including UCSF alums) working in a variety of careers.
