The PQA Quality Forum Webinar is a regular, recurring series on healthcare quality topics with a focus on medication use and medication services. It is a forum for educating and engaging with PQA members and quality-focused healthcare professionals.

PQA Education Director Amanda Ryan will host the forum, which will showcase the successful career paths and experiences of medication use quality professionals from diverse groups at PQA member organizations.

Binal Patel, MPharm, BCGP

Director of Clinical Outcomes & Therapeutic Optimization·PerformRx

Binal Patel has been with PerformRx’s, Clinical Outcomes & Therapeutic Optimization department since 2013. Her experience in pharmacy spans multiple settings including hospital, retail and long-term care. In her current role, Binal uses her expertise in MTM to develop programs that optimize medication regimens, improve health outcomes, and increase quality measures scores. She is involved in training the next generation of pharmacists through Residency, APPE and IPPE Programs. Binal is a member of PerformRx’s Clinical Services Advisory Team, which has oversight of PerformRx's clinical programs. Binal received her Master of Pharmacy degree from University College London, School of Pharmacy.

Michelle Juhanson, CHC, CHPC

VP and Chief of Staff II to the SVP /Plan President·Prime Therapeutics - Magellan Rx Management

Michelle Juhanson, CHC, CHPC, is VP and Chief of Staff II to the SVP /Plan President at Prime Therapeutics - Magellan Rx Management. She was a 2022 Health Care Businesswomen’s Association Luminary and CHIEF member. Michelle is a breast cancer survivor, polyglot, public speaker, and strategist. With 15 + years Medicare and Medicaid compliance and quality experience. Michelle advises industry coalitions and councils on health equity (AHIP, PCMA, PQA), pharmacy quality (PQA), compliance (HCCA), and accreditation (NCQA). Michelle is certified in Health Care Compliance and Health Care Privacy Compliance by the Health Care Compliance Association. She is honored to be a member of the PQA Health Equity Technical Expert Panel. Michelle loves her human and animal family, has a Great Pyrenees, a Goldendoodle, and two large Ragdoll cats, and hopes to add alpaca to the menagerie.

Norris Turner, PharmD, PhD

Norris Turner is the President & CEO of Turner Healthcare Quality (THCQ) Consulting, Inc. With 20+ years in Pfizer, Purdue Pharma, and Johnson & Johnson, Norris leads THCQ in aiding biopharmaceutical companies to enhance strategies and align with providers and payers driving patient outcomes, cost efficiency, and health equity. He previously served at non-profit Pharmacy Quality Alliance. Norris holds the PharmD from the University of Michigan), PhD in pharmaceutical chemistry from the UC San Francisco), and a Health Policy Educational Certificate from Thomas Jefferson University. He’s on the Board of Directors for National Transitions of Care Coalition.

Amanda Ryan, PharmD, serves as the Director of Education for the Pharmacy Quality Alliance where she leads the strategic direction of PQA’s educational activities. She is responsible for developing strategies, theme and topic ideation, and creating and managing program content, which is delivered through PQA’s Annual Meeting, Leadership Summit, Quality Forum Webinar series, continuing education programs, and other events.Before joining PQA, Ryan served for six years as the Clinical Pharmacy Specialist for Qsource, a nonprofit healthcare quality improvement and information technology consultancy headquartered in Memphis, TN, where she oversaw all pharmacy quality and medication safety-related initiatives. One of her primary responsibilities was to create and provide educational programs to healthcare professionals and patients. One such program was the Campaign for Meds Management, a collaboration between the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services, patients, and healthcare professionals nationwide. Ryan also has six years of long-term care pharmacy experience, where she oversaw the pharmacy‘s continuous quality improvement program and provided education to nursing home staff.
